Our CBD Softgels are made with CBD Isolate.
Extracted from the plant, CBD Isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol.
CBD Isolate contains only CBD. Unlike Full or Broad Spectrum CBD, none of the terpenes or essential oils will be present. CBD Isolate is also completely free of THC, which is why it proves so popular for many of our customers.
CBD Isolate is made by following the traditional extraction processes, which removes all of the active compounds from the hemp plant. It is then further refined to strip away all of the other phytocannabinoids (which include THC) to leave behind the purest form of CBD. As a result, CBD Isolate is 99% pure CBD.
Whilst it’s thought that having the full range of cannabinoids present in Full and Broad Spectrum CBD can create the “entourage effect”, something which is believed to increase its effectiveness, CBD Isolate has its benefits.
Firstly, being completely free from THC can be a big plus point for some people, especially when starting their CBD journey. As well as that, powdered CBD Isolate is very easy to add to a lot of other products such as gummies, softgels and muscle balms.
CBD Isolate is also very easy to dose as the exact amount of CBD in each product can be accurately measured.
It’s a common assumption that CBD and marijuana are the same, but this is not true.
CBD is made from hemp and does not have any psychoactive properties, unlike marijuana.
There are two main species of plant within the family; Indica and Sativa. Whilst marijuana can be extracted from both species, and hemp can only be extracted from Sativa.
This means that there are some notable differences between hemp and marijuana. The most important of these is that hemp contains almost no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This is the chemical found in marijuana that makes you feel high.
For hemp to be legally considered hemp, it must contain no more than 0.2% THC. If you are taking Full or Broad Spectrum CBD products, it’s normal to have trace amounts of THC, but nowhere near the levels that will become psychoactive. If you are taking CBD Isolate, it will contain no THC at all.
